Appliances 1-0-1

Site work is scheduled to resume later in the week when plumbers and electricians return to bury more pipe and conduit just ahead of the final concrete work and gravel back-filling within the house foundation.

In the meantime, Nancy (especially) and I have been working to get ahead on other details, this past weekend focusing on appliances. Suffice it to say that online reviews and shopping make it easier to scope out the possibilities, but there are a lot! We’re doing what we can to balance between lifestyle preferences, energy-efficiencies, prices, and consumer reviews, but at times wonder if it’s all worth it. In the end we remind ourselves these are important considerations and we’ll be happier down the road for taking the time now to go through this tedious process.

It’s hard to be bargain-shoppers while building a house, but “July Fourth Sales” caught our eye on the appliance front, so it became our weekend goal to nail down the major kitchen and laundry appliances—and the order was placed today…finally. More details when we get closer to delivery and installation; heavens, there’s no roof to even put these under yet!
