Foundation forms filled just in time

As it turns out, the foundation forms were set and filled just in time; storms again arrived overnight Thursday into Friday morning, dumping slightly more than another inch of rain on the area. Jesse called from Koball’s to confirm the crew was able to get back to the site just fine and were in the process of stripping the forms, so the foundation work is essentially done. They’ll be back in a week or so to pour slabs in the garage and the cellar, just ahead of the framing.

Next week, it’s water-proofing the cellar walls and back-filling around the entire foundation, inside and out—weather permitting, of course. Already the forecast is for 3-5 or more inches of rain over the weekend and into early next week. Ugh…

Following that, the plumber and electrician will be by to place pipes and conduit in the ground under the eventual gravel fill and slab. For now, a weekend to contemplate more about “what’s next”!
